Vein & Aesthetics Clinic of New England was founded in 1997 by Sandra V. Kristiansen, MD to serve the greater Boston area. It is a state-of-the-art medical facility focusing on contemporary varicose vein and anti-aging treatments using the newest treatment methods and technologies available.

Dr. Kristiansen has specialized in vein treatments for years and is one of the leading specialists in New England. She was the first in the area to use the new VNUS Closure®, EVLT™, allowing us to treat your largest varicose veins as well as your smallest spider veins without surgery.

Dr. Kristiansen is the only physician in New England, who performs all contemporary leg vein treatments, including the two newest technologies: VNUS Closure® and EVLT™  (Endovenous Laser Treatment). She has performed hundreds of Closure® and EVLT™ procedures since they were FDA approved in 2000, all with very successful results. Dr. Kristiansen has been actively practicing medicine for over 15 years.

All our treatment procedures are non-surgical and done safely in our on-site procedure rooms, using only local anesthesia and the patients are able to leave on their own immediately after the treatment.

What Treatments Are Available?

A. Conservative Measure (Stockings):
Compression graduated stockings can slow down the natural course of the disease and reduce the painful symptoms. However, they WILL NOT CURE the disease.
 B. Medical Treatments:
The medical treatment depends on the type, size, location and depth of the vein problem. This is determined by various non-invasive diagnostic tests, such as: venous doppler, PPG, and color duplex ultrasound.

When the examination and diagnostic tests are performed one or combination of treatments can be recommended, to yield the best medical and cosmetic results.
