The Teddy Bear Club

  The Teddy Bear Club was started in 1993.
  The Teddy Bear Club is a place where many children often have their first experiences with cultural differences. Their unique program combines learning through play while introducing the French language and culture through our daily activities. Our kindergarten program may be used as a transitional kindergarten year for children too young to attend kindergarten or as a regular kindergarten program for children planning to attend first grade the following year.
  The Teddy Bear Club Preschool has an international flavor not only because of its French atmosphere and culture, but also thanks to the variety of students who attend the program. Over one hundred students constitute the Teddy Bear Club’s student body.
  While at least 70% of our students are American, many families come from various parts of the world such as Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico and Turkey.
  The Teddy Bear Club does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, cultural heritage, political beliefs, marital status, sexual preference, disability or national origin.
  The primary goal of The Teddy Bear Club is to foster the development of a positive self-image and to instill confidence in all of our students through the joy of learning and socializing.
  Our programs focus on developing physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills through a well-organized, structured, bilingual curriculum designed to stimulate the children’s own creativity, imagination and independence. The development of each child’s self-esteem and sense of responsibility is our principal objective. The Teddy Bear Club understands that children naturally desire to learn and explore at a very young age. We strive to enhance this curiosity while encouraging the children to develop a strong sense of pride and achievement.
  Schedules of Activities
  Classroom activities are based on the developmental needs and interests of each child’s age level. Activities range from individual self-selected projects to teacher-initiated individual and group activities. A wide variety of activities are offered to our students each day. These daily activities are grouped in the following basic categories:
* French, academics and environmental awareness
* Computers, language lab, storytelling and reading
* Arts & crafts, manipulatives and cooking
* Music, movement, yoga and drama.
  The Teddy Bear Club French Summer Program is designed for children between the ages of two and seven. Our program provides either an introduction to, or a continuation of French while allowing the children to participate in a wide variety of outdoor activities. The French language is taught communicatively and in situations relevant to the lives of the young campers. The campers’ day consists of a combination of structured and unstructured activities focusing on a variety of daily themes. The program’s design and schedule is created according to the level of each group.
