When you enroll in our academy, you get more than just tae kwon do lessons for kids.
We have a highly-trained and professional staff with years of experience teaching young people tae kwon do techniques at all levels — beginner to black belt — and we know that individual learning is the key. To practice taekwondo is more than just fighting, and tae kwon do training is best done at a student’s natural pace, so that every lesson learned is a lesson for life.
Here at the Academy, students ages 3-30 years can proceed through their training and earn their tae kwon do belts, getting personal attention from their instructors that you can’t find at other tae kwon do schools.
We’re convenient for parents, offering after school pick up from the Lowell School, followed by homework time before tae kwon do, so that students work their brains and their bodies. With holiday parties, summer camp, and tournaments, combining fitness, training, and fun has never been easier.
Learning martial arts is itself an art. Teaching mixed and modern martial arts techniques for kids in a fun and safe way is all about proceeding at a natural pace for each unique student.
At many kids martial arts schools, instruction in classes for young children is often as focused on crowd control as on learning form, and your child’s needs could get lost in the shuffle.
With our small class sizes and attentive instructors, students learn martial arts in an individual and integrated way, and can move up through their martial arts training in a comfortable and safe setting that helps build confidence.

Our name is Alpha Tae Kwon Do Academy, but we offer instruction in many different forms as well.
Hap ki do is another martial art of Korean origin, but more closely related to jiu jitsu than to taekwon do. Along with these methods, we also offer Goju-Ryu karate training from beginner to black belt, as well as our program in weapons. There are many reasons to learn karate, fitness and self-defense being only a few, so a kids karate school has the responsibility of helping students reap all the benefits of the many fighting forms.
Are you or your child interested in learning a fighting form for self defense?
We believe that these martial arts fighting forms bring a level of philosophy to your self defense training that is often not introduced in dedicated self defense classes and lessons that are not part of a larger art. Both martial arts and self defense are about more than just hitting and kicking.
But what really sets Alpha Tae Kwon Do Academy apart as an experience is all the fun you’ll have!
Our after school kids programs are integrated with learning, by scheduling both homework time and training time. We offer training through a youth summer camp program, so kids can keep martial arts in their lives year-round. Unlike traditional summer sports camps, the focus isn’t on winning or losing games — it’s on improving your martial arts skills, which is a continuous process. During the rest of the year, our activities are a fun and convenient way to keep a sense of community. At Christmas, we help the kids party, leaving parents free to go shopping. We have Halloween and Earth Day activities, on top of our exciting tournament schedule.
